About Helen

Helen Chislett launched her eponymous gallery in 2013 to promote the work of talented artists and makers within the super- prime sector of interior design and architecture. Being a passionate advocate of true artisanship, Helen is determined to champion the message that commissioning unique pieces keeps skills alive.

As a leading commentator on international design, Helen has had her work published in every national UK newspaper of note including the Financial Times, where she was a regular contributor for 14 years. Her features have also appeared in lifestyle titles as diverse and international as House & Garden, Boat International, the Wall Street Journal Magazine and the Sunday Times ‘Style’ magazine. Helen has written over twenty books to date, including co-authored titles with leading names in the interior design industry.

Helen has shown the work of her artists and makers both in the UK and internationally, including at Guild in Cape Town in 2014; the inaugural Downtown Design in Riyadh in 2025; and at Dovetail in New York in 2025 – the show she founded to promote British design and craftsmanship in the USA. She is an ambassador for British craft, including various initiatives with The King’s Foundation.
