Inspired by the regional tradition of the Walser architecture of the Alps, the
Galtur bench emblematises a process that rests on authenticity and simplicity. Carved from local cedar grown in the high peaks of the Italian Alps, it has been assembled using only timber nails. Riccardo has then bevelled linear grooves out of the timber, creating a dynamic, textural pattern. On each end of the bench he has left the beautiful, natural textures apparent from the making process. The cedar gives it a wonderfully balsamic and aromatic scent. The Galtur Bench is a low bench that is ideal as a hallway addition, coffee table or bedroom bench.
